From Realpolitik to Real Estate

After preparing for a career in foreign affairs, I decided to change course and make a foray into one of the most dynamic asset classes in investment management.

I’m a Toronto-based real estate investment and development professional with well over a decade of experience navigating the financial crisis in 2008 and participating in the most active development cycle in this city’s history. I’ve carried out value-add, opportunistic, and build-to-core mandates across various sectors and geographies within Canada. My content has been published in FDI Intelligence, Canadian Investment Review, and other industry-specific publications. I’m impassioned by global affairs and the way it intersects with business and economics. Born and raised in Vancouver, I will always have a place in my heart for the West Coast.

“The confluence of events, namely rising rates, the pandemic’s impact on commercial real estate, and structural changes in the industry due to technological shifts will make active management that much more challenging — and interesting — for years to come.”
