Foreign Direct Investment in Sub-Saharan Africa: Motivating Factors and Policy Issues
This article factor analyzes location decisions and perceptions of investors in sub-Saharan Africa before and after a firm’s foreign direct investment commitment in order to effectively promote capital inflows into the region. The analysis is based on the largest survey on FDI in sub-Saharan Africa ever conducted at the time (Africa Foreign Investor Survey 2003: Motivations, Operations, Perceptions and Future Plans).
